Chief Richard A. Braga, Jr.

Welcome to the Hudson Massachusetts Police Department’s website.  The Hudson Police Department is made up of approximately 55 full and part time employees that bring a host of experience, talent and skills to the agency.  The Department has people certified in evidence collection and preservation, crime scene photography, fingerprint classification and recovery, illegal narcotics enforcement and advanced investigation to name a few.  The agency also has multiple officers assigned to a Detective Division, a Youth Services Division, a regional SWAT Team, a Bicycle Patrol Unit and a Motorcycle Unit.  The organization also continually strives to introduce new strategies and technology designed to better address issues within the community.

The Hudson Police Department was one of the first police agencies in the Commonwealth to employ the use of Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) in all of its line cruisers.  This technology provides dispatchers with the exact location of each available unit, thus allowing the dispatcher to send the closest cruiser improving response time to critical calls.  Our units are also equipped with the latest mobile data terminals, radars and alert systems.  The Hudson Police Department’s officers regularly participate in programs designed to address issues such as aggressive driving, seat belt enforcement, the drunk driver and other threats on the roadways.  The Department provides critical incident training to all officers, as well as other schooling on topics that would more professionalize the organization.

The Hudson Police Department is regularly looking to fill positions with high quality men and women.  If you are seeking employment with a progressive police department with excellent pay and benefits, please click on “employment opportunities” located on the home page of this website.  I hope you will find this website informative and helpful and I thank you for visiting it.
